Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) conducting the OPSC ASO Recruitment 2018 for filling 500 vacancies for the post of Assistant Selection Officer (ASO) in OPSC. The exam for Assistant Section Officer in Odisha Secretariat Service and Governor’s Secretariat. Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Exam will be conducted in two phase, that is Written Test and Skill Test (Computer Test). The candidates who will qualify the written test will be allowed to appear the Skill test. All the questions are of Multiple Choice Type. There is no Negative marking.

Eligibility Criteria of OPSC ASO Recruitment 2018
The candidates who want to participate in the recruitment should meet the eligibility criteria norms set by the Commission.
Nationality: An Indian national is eligible to apply.
Age Limit: The candidates who are under the age bar of 21 to 32 years, are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification: The candidates must have completed the graduation in any discipline can apply.
Knowledge of Odia Language: The candidates must have studied Odia in Middle school or in 10th or till 08th.
NOC by Government Servant: The candidates who are working under government sector have to produce the No Objection Certificate in written form, form their Head of the Department.
The candidate who possesses all the above points is eligible to apply. The applications are invited form the eligible candidates. So the aspirants who do not possess the above attributes are suggested not to apply.

Application Form of OPSC ASO Recruitment 2018
After verifying the eligibility criteria the candidates can apply for the recruitment. The application form has been released on the official website of OPSC i. e. www.opsc.gov.in. The candidates have to fill the form online apart from that no other mode is introduced for the same. The candidates have to submit a certain amount as application fee for completing the application form.
Application Fee
- OPSC has decided Rs. 300/- as application/Examination fee for ASO Recruitment.
- The application fee is NIL for the candidates belonging to SC/ST and PWD (only candidates of Odisha).
Selection Procedure of OPSC ASO Recruitment 2018
The selection process of Assistant Selection Officer in OSC consists of two stages, first is written examination second is skill test.
The Written examination is of 400 marks, where the candidates have to face the deduction of marks on each wrong answer. While the Skill test is only qualifying. The candidates have to just qualify for the exam. No marks will be awarded to the candidates.

OPSC may decide minimum qualifying marks for written examination. However, the merit list will be depended on only written examination marks.

OPSC ASO Syllabus Assistant Section Officer
Chapter wise detail syllabus for OPSC Assistant Section Officer Exam 2015 is mentioned below. Read each section of the syllabus carefully, because the questions will be set equally from each section.
1. ENGLISH:-
This section is designed to test the language abilities and understanding of English Grammar. Questions shall be asked mainly from the following categories –
Verb, Preposition, Adverb, Subject-Verb Agreement, Error
Correction/Recognition, Tenses, Sentence Rearrangement, Fill in the Blanks with Articles etc., Comprehension, Answering Questions based on Unseen Passages, Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms
2.. MATHEMATICS:-
This section tests the quantitative and Mathematical Skills of the candidate. Questions will be asked mainly from the following categories. Questions shall be of Secondary School Standard

3. ESSAY : –
There will be two Essays, one each in English and Odia. A separate booklet will be provided for each essay. But both the exam will be held in one session.

Questions will be asked mainly from the following categories. Questions will be such that they do not require any special study of any discipline.

This section usually tries to test the reasoning abilities and mental aptitude of the candidate. Questions will be asked mainly from the following categories –
