1. Imran Hussain awarded for banning Chinese 'manja' PETA
Delhi Environment minister Imran Hussain has been awarded with the 'Hero to Animals Award' for banning Chinese manja - glass-coated kite strings - throughout the national capital, animal rights body PETA.

2. Ex-BJP MP Gunvantrao Sarode died
Former Lok Sabha MP of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) from Maharashtra Dr Gunvantrao Sarode died. He was 78.

महाराष्ट्र से भाजपा के पूर्व लोकसभा सदस्य डॉ गुणवंतराव सरोदे का निधन हो गया। वह 78 वर्ष के थे।
3. Bank of Maharashtra appoints A S Rajeev as MD, CEO
State-owned Bank of Maharashtra has appointed A S Rajeev as its Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer.
"A S Rajeev has joined Bank of Maharashtra as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer on 2nd December 2018. Prior to this, he was Executive Director of Indian Bank from 22 January 2016," the lender said in a release.
Rajeev is having about three decades of professional experience in three Banks - Syndicate Bank, Vijaya Bank and Indian Bank.
बैंक आफ महाराष्ट्र ने ए एस राजीव को प्रबंध निदेशक, सीईओ नियुक्त किया
सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंक आफ महाराष्ट्र (बीओएम) ने ए एस राजीव को अपना प्रबंध निदेशक एवं मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) नियुक्त किया।
बैंक ने बयान में कहा कि राजीव 2 दिसंबर, 2018 से बीओएम के साथ प्रबंध निदेशक एवं सीईओ बन गए हैं। राजीव के पास करीब तीन दशक का पेशेवर अनुभव है। वह इससे पहले सिंडिकेट बैंक, विजया बैंक और इंडियन बैंक में रह चुके हैं।
4. Mauritius' SBM gets RBI approval to merge operations with its Indian subsidiary
The Reserve Bank of India has approved merger of SBM (Mauritius), India with SBM Bank (India).
"The Reserve Bank of India has sanctioned the Scheme of amalgamation of the entire undertaking of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Limited, India with SBM Bank (India) Limited which has been granted licence by the Reserve Bank to carry on the business of banking in India through Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WOS) mode under the Banking Regulation Act," RBI said in a release.
The scheme will come into force with effect from December 01, 2018, it said further.
एसबीएम बैंक को अपनी भारतीय अनुषंगी के साथ परिचालन विलय करने की आरबीआई की मंजूरी
भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने एसबीएम बैंक (इंडिया) के साथ एसबीएम (मॉरीशस), इंडिया के विलय को मंजूरी दे दी है।
आरबीआई ने विज्ञप्ति में कहा, "भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने एसबीएम बैंक (इंडिया) लिमिटेड के साथ एसबीएम बैंक (मॉरीशस), भारत के पूरे उपक्रम के विलय की योजना को मंजूरी दे दी है। एसबीएम बैंक (इंडिया) लिमिटेड को रिजर्व बैंक द्वारा भारत में बैंकिंग के कारोबार को जारी रखने के लिये लाइसेंस दिया गया है।"
यह योजना एक दिसंबर 2018 से प्रभावी होगी।
5. Ullas Narayan wins India's first international medal in ultra running
Ullas Narayan became the first ever Indian individual medal winner in an international ultra running event by clinching a bronze in the 2018 International Association of Ultra Running (IAU) 24 Hour Asia & Oceania Championships.
