Eminent Hindi author and essayist Krishna Sobti died. She was 93.
She received prestigious awards like Sahitya Akademi, Jnanpith and was also offered Padma Bhushan, which she had declined.

हिंदी की प्रख्यात लेखिका एवं निबंधकार कृष्णा सोबती का निधन हो गया। वह 93 वर्ष की थीं।
उन्हें साहित्य अकादमी, ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कारों जैसे प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कारों से नवाजा गया था और पद्म भूषण की भी पेशकश की गई थी जिसे उन्होंने ठुकरा दिया था।

3. NDRF battalion to be rewarded for commendable work in disaster management
The NDRF's 8th battalion located at Ghaziabad has been selected for the Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar for its commendable work in disaster management.
The recipient will receive a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 51 lakhs for the award, which was instituted in honour of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

गाजियाबाद में एनडीआरएफ की 8वीं बटालियन को आपदा प्रबंधन में उसके उल्लेखनीय काम के लिए सुभाष चंद्र बोस आपदा प्रबंधन पुरस्कार के लिए चयनित किया गया है।
गृह मंत्रालय ने बताया कि बटालियन को एक प्रमाणपत्र और 51 लाख रुपये का नकद पुरस्कार दिया जाएगा। यह पुरस्कार नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस के सम्मान में शुरू किया गया है।
