Lohri is a popular winter time Punjabi folk festival, celebrated primarily by Sikhs and Hindus from the Punjab region in the northern part of Indian subcontinent. The significance and legends about the Lohri festival are many and these link the festival to the Punjab region.

This Punjabi harvest festival is a celebration of the winter crop season.

Mittha gurh te vich mil geya til,

Udi patang te khil geya dil,

Har pal sukh te har vele shaanti,

Rabb kare sabda bhala...
