1. UNDP appoints Padma Lakshmi as Goodwill Ambassador
Indian-American television personality and food expert Padma Lakshmi has been appointed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as its newest Goodwill Ambassador, supporting the agency's fight against inequality and discrimination around the world.

भारतीय अमेरिकी टेलीविजन हस्ती एवं खाद्य विशेषज्ञ पद्मा लक्ष्मी को संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) की नई ‘गुडविल एम्बेसेडर’ नियुक्त किया गया है और वह विश्वभर में असमानता एवं भेदभाव के खिलाफ एजेंसी की लड़ाई का समर्थन करेंगी।
2. Hasmukh Adhia appointed Central University of Gujarat chancellor
Retired IAS officer Hasmukh Adhia has been appointed as the chancellor of Central University of Gujarat (CUG).
The appointment will be for a tenure of five years.
हसमुख अधिया गुजरात केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय के चांसलर नियुक्त
पूर्व वित्त सचिव हसमुख अधिया को गुजरात केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय का चांसलर नियुक्त किया गया है।
यह नियुक्ति पांच साल के कार्यकाल के लिए होगी।
3. ADB to provide USD 26 mn to improve Dibrugarh's drainage
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide a USD 26-million loan as additional financing for improving drainage infrastructure in Dibrugarh town of Assam under the ongoing Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program.
डिब्रूगढ़ दूषित जल निकासी व्यवस्था में सुधार के लिए एडीबी देगा 2.6 करोड़ डॉलर का कर्ज
एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) ने असम के डिब्रूगढ़ में दूषित जल निकासी प्रणाली को दूरुस्त करने के लिए 2.6 करोड़ डॉलर का अतिरिक्त ऋण देगा। यह ऋण असम शहरी बुनियादी ढांचा निवेश कार्यक्रम के तहत दिया जायेगा ।
4. PM flags off Lucknow Metro's North-South corridor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the commercial run on Lucknow Metro's North-South corridor through video conference from Kanpur.
The length of the North-South corridor is 23 kilometre.
प्रधानमंत्री ने किया लखनऊ मेट्रो के उत्तर-दक्षिणी कॉरीडोर का लोकार्पण
प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने लखनऊ मेट्रो के उत्तर-दक्षिणी कॉरीडोर का कानपुर में वीडियो कांफ्रेंसिंग के जरिये हरी झंडी दिखाकर लोकार्पण किया।
लखनऊ मेट्रो के दूसरे चरण में बनाया गया यह कॉरीडोर 23 किलोमीटर लम्बा है।
5. Subhash Chandra Garg named Finance Secretary
Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg has been named as the Finance Secretary.
Garg, 58, a 1983 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, has been working as the Secretary in Department of Economic Affairs since June 2017.
सुभाष चंद्र गर्ग वित्त सचिव नामित
आर्थिक मामलों के सचिव सुभाष चंद्र गर्ग को वित्त सचिव नामित किया गया। कार्मिक मंत्रालय के आदेश में यह कहा गया है।
राजस्थान कैडर के 1983 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी 58 वर्षीय गर्ग जून 2017 से आर्थिक मामलों के विभाग में सचिव के रूप में काम कर रहे हैं।
