1. HRD rankings: IIT-Madras best institution, IISc Bangalore best varsity, Miranda House best college
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, topped the HRD Ministry's national ranking of higher education institutes while Bangalore's Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Delhi's Miranda House were adjudged best university and college respectively.
The fourth edition of the Indian rankings based on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019 were announced by President Ram Nath Kovind.

मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी की गई उच्च शिक्षण संस्थानों की राष्ट्रीय रैंकिंग में भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (आईआईटी)-मद्रास को पहला स्थान दिया गया है। भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान (आईआईएससी)-बेंगलुरु और दिल्ली के मिरांडा हाउस को क्रमश: सर्वश्रेष्ठ विश्वविद्यालय और कॉलेज चुना गया है।
नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट रैंकिंग फ्रेमवर्क (एनआईआरएफ) 2019 पर आधारित इस रैंकिंग के चौथे संस्करण की घोषणा राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद द्वारा की गई।
2. India’s GDP expected to accelerate moderately to 7.5% in 2019-20: World Bank
India’s GDP growth is expected to accelerate moderately to 7.5 per cent in Fiscal Year 19-20, driven by continued investment strengthening, particularly private-improved export performance and resilient consumption, the World Bank has said.
भारत की आर्थिक वृद्धि दर 2019-20 में बढ़कर 7.5 प्रतिशत रहने का अनुमान: विश्वबैंक
भारत की जीडीपी वृद्धि दर 2019-20 में बढ़कर 7.5 प्रतिशत पर पहुंचने का अनुमान है। निवेश खासकर निजी निवेश में मजबूती आने, मांग बेहतर होने तथा निर्यात में सुधार इसकी मुख्य वजह है। यह बात विश्व बैंक ने एक रिपोर्ट में कही है।

5. India highest recipient of remittances at $79 billion in 2018: World Bank
India retained its position as the world's top recipient of remittances with its diaspora sending a whopping $79 billion back home in 2018, the World Bank said in a report .
India was followed by China ($67 billion), Mexico ($36 billion), the Philippines ($34 billion), and Egypt ($29 billion), the global lender said.
With this, India has retained its top spot on remittances, according to the latest edition of the World Bank's Migration and Development Brief.
विदेश से धन भेजने के मामले में भारतीय अव्वल, 2018 में 79 अरब डॉलर भेजे
विदेश से अपने देश में पैसे भेजने के मामले में भारतीय एक बार फिर सबसे आगे रहे हैं। 2018 में प्रवासी भारतीयों ने 79 अरब डॉलर भारत में भेजे हैं। विश्वबैंक ने अपनी रिपोर्ट में यह बात कही।
विश्वबैंक की ' माइग्रेशन एंड डेवलपमेंट ब्रीफ ' रिपोर्ट के नवीन संस्करण के मुताबिक , भारत के बाद चीन का नंबर आता है। चीन में उनके नागरिकों द्वारा 67 अरब डॉलर भेजा गया है। इसके बाद मैक्सिको (36 अरब डॉलर), फिलिपीन (34 अरब डॉलर) और मिस्त्र (29 अरब डॉलर) का स्थान है।
रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि भारत एक बार फिर पहले पायदान पर रहने में कामयाब रहा है।
