The SBI Clerk prelims exam is scheduled to be held in the month of June whereas the Main exam is scheduled in the month of 10th August 2019. With a number of vacancies for clerical cadre posts, SBI has created wonderful opportunities for the aspirants across the country. This leaves you with around 30 days for preparing for the examination. In this article, we are going to guide you regarding the complete study plan for SBI Clerk Examination 2019.
1. Speed- As the prelims exam will also have a sectional timer, the first thing you should focus is the speed. Although the sectional cutoffs have been removed from the SBI exam, you must maintain a desired speed in the exam so that you can attempt maximum questions. However, this speed can only be achieved through regular practice.
2. Be Careful while attempting Questions- As you will only have 20 minutes for each section, you must be careful while attempting a question. You must be able to select the right question so that you don’t lose any time in solving questions.
3. Practice and Shortcut tricks- The main thing to focus for the exam is practicing because perfection can only be achieved through regular practice. All the aspirants should practice more and more questions on exam pattern.
4. Self-Analysis – All the aspirants should attempt maximum mock tests based on the actual exam pattern. These mock tests provide you the insights of the actual exam. Moreover, these mock tests also provide your rank among various students. These tests will help you analyse your preparations.
Subject-wise Strategy-
The SBI Clerk examination will be conducted in two phases and they are the preliminary examination and the main examination. The prelims examination will be based on English language, Reasoning and Numerical Ability whereas the main examination will be based on General/Financial Awareness as well along with the above-mentioned subjects. That leaves you with basically four subjects for preparation – Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude and General English.
Reasoning: The first step towards studying this section is to understand the question pattern and the syllabus of this section. Then study one topic at a time and after that practice questions based on that topic of various difficulty levels. After you are done with the syllabus, the next thing should be to practice full-length mock tests. The best thing will be to finish the whole syllabus in the first month and keep the next month for practice.
Numerical Ability: The strategy will be the same for this also. Firstly, you should go through the entire syllabus and understand the question pattern. Then go through the topics one by one and practice questions based on that topic of the same difficulty level as the actual examination. The next thing is to practice full-length mock tests. Keep the first month for the study whereas the next month should be devoted to the mock tests of full length so that you are completely ready to take on SBI Clerk when the actual exam is in front of you.
English Language: SBI Clerk paper will be mainly based on grammar and vocabulary because they want to test your knowledge of Basic English grammar and your ability to write Basic English. For English language preparation the main thing is to understand the basic rules of grammar at first and then you will not feel scared of English. Pick up any standard grammar book and go through the chapters and practice as many questions as possible from the chapters. Then practice full length mock tests. Again, keep the first month for topic wise study and the second month for mock tests.
