1. Virat Kohli among world's highest-paid athletes: Forbes
India cricket captain Virat Kohli has once again become the sole Indian in the Forbes 2019 list of world's highest-paid athletes. However, Kohli is last on the list of top-100 athletes, headed by Barcelona and Argentina football superstar Lionel Messi.
According to the Forbes list, Kohli estimated earnings is $21m from endorsements and $4m from salary and winnings, taking his total tally to $25m for the last 12 months.
Ranked 83rd on last year's list, Kohli has climbed down to the 100th spot despite an increase of $1m in endorsements.

भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के कप्तान विराट कोहली दुनिया में सबसे ज्यादा कमाने वाले एथलीटों की फोर्ब्स 2019 सूची में जगह पाने वाले एकमात्र भारतीय हैं। हालांकि कोहली 100 लोगों की सूची में अंतिम पायदान पर हैं। इसमें एक नंबर पर हैं बार्सीलोना और अर्जेंटीना के फुटबॉल स्टार लियोन मेस्सी।
फोर्ब्स की सूची के अनुसार, कोहली को विज्ञापनों से 2.1 करोड़ डॉलर जबकि वेतन और जीत से 40 लाख डॉलर की कमाई होती है। पिछले 12 महीने में उनकी कुल कमाई 2.5 करोड़ डॉलर की रही है।
पिछले साल कोहली इस सूची में 83वें स्थान पर थे, लेकिन इस साल वह फिसल कर 100वें स्थान पर आ गए हैं। हालांकि विज्ञापन से उनकी कमाई में 10 लाख डॉलर का इजाफा हुआ है।
2. Amazon beats Google as the most valuable brand, Apple clings on to 2nd spot
According to global market research agency Kantar 2019 100 Top BrandZ report, US retail giant Amazon has moved past hi-tech titans Apple and Google to become the world's most valuable brand.
According to the report, the brand value of Amazon surged by 52 per cent to $315 billion.
अमेजन बना दुनिया का शीर्ष ब्रांड, गूगल से छीना ताज
वैश्विक बाजार अनुसंधान एजेंसी कंतर के 2019 सौ शीर्ष ब्रांड्स रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, खुदरा क्षेत्र की दिग्गज कंपनी अमेजन आईटी क्षेत्र की दिग्गज कंपनियों एपल और गूगल को पछाड़कर दुनिया का सबसे बहुमूल्य ब्रांड बन गया है।
रिपोर्ट के अनुसार अमेजन का ब्रांड मूल्य 52 प्रतिशत चढ़कर 315 अरब डॉलर हो गया है।
3. China appoints veteran diplomat Sun Weidong as new envoy to India
China has appointed veteran diplomat Sun Weidong, an expert in South Asian affairs and worked closely with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar during his tenure as Ambassador in Beijing, as its new envoy to India.
Sun, who also served as the ambassador to Pakistan, is currently the Director General of the Policy and Planning Department of the Foreign Ministry.

चीन ने दक्षिण एशियाई मामलों के विशेषज्ञ एवं बीजिंग में भारतीय राजदूत के तौर पर तैनात रह चुके विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर के साथ करीब से काम कर चुके सुन वीदोंग को भारत में अपना नया राजदूत नियुक्त किया है।
पाकिस्तान में चीन के राजदूत के तौर पर काम कर चुके सुन चीनी विदेश मंत्रालय के नीति एवं योजना विभाग के महानिदेशक हैं।
4. Grassroots women's organisation in Andhra Pradesh wins prestigious UN award
A grassroots women's organisation "Deccan Development Society" in Andhra Pradesh is among the 22 winners of a prestigious United Nations Equator Prize 2019. This award given biennially to recognise outstanding efforts towards local, innovative, nature-based climate solutions.

आंध्रप्रदेश का महिला संगठन ‘डेक्कन डेवलपमेंट सोसायटी’ संयुक्त राष्ट्र के उन प्रतिष्ठित 22 पुरस्कार विजेताओं में शामिल है जिसे‘इक्वेटर पुरस्कार 2019’ से सम्मानित किया गया है। यह पुरस्कार हर दो वर्ष पर स्थानीय, नवोन्मेषी, प्रकृति आधारित जलवायु समाधान के प्रयास के लिए दिया जाता है।
5. Sr IPS officer V S Kaumudi appointed DG, BPR&D
Senior IPS officer V S Kaumudi has been appointed as the Director General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel said.
Kaumudi, a 1986-batch IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, is at present the Additional Director General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

आंध्र प्रदेश कैडर के 1986 बैच के भारतीय पुलिस सेवा : आईपीएस: अधिकारी कौमुदी फिलहाल केन्द्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (सीआरपीएफ) में अतिरिक्त महानिदेशक हैं।
