1- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey 2018-19 in both houses of Parliament

- Fiscal Deficit has been pegged at 3.4 per cent of GDP for 2018-19.
- The expenditure on Social Services by the Centre and States increased from 7.68 lakh crores in 2014-15 to 13.94 lakh crore in 2018-19.
- The expenditure on education increased from 2.8 per cent to 3 per cent and expenditure on health increased from 1.2 per cent to 1.5 per cent from 2014-15 to 2018-19.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of India becoming a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2025.
- To achieve the vision, India needs to shift its gears to accelerate and sustain a real GDP growth rate of 8 per cent.

- केंद्र और राज्यों द्वारा सामाजिक सेवाओं पर खर्च 2014-15 में 7.68 लाख करोड़ से बढ़कर 2018-19 में 13.94 लाख करोड़ हो गया।

With the IMF board's approval, the fund released $1 billion to Pakistan immediately and said in a statement the program aims to "support the authorities' economic reform program" and to help "reduce economic vulnerabilities and generate sustainable and balanced growth."

5- Shillong to host a short film festival in November
A three-day festival of short films, the Kelvin Cinema Festival of Films, is set to roll out in Shillong from November 7 to 9, 2019. The festival will host a national competition for short films with prize money worth ₹4 lakh. The competition will be in six categories — best film, director, actor--male and female, cinematographer and editor.
