1- Veteran music composer Khayyam passes away aged 92
Veteran music composer Mohammed Zahur 'Khayyam' Hashmi passed away aged 92 at a hospital in Mumbai. Khayyam, a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Padma Bhushan, had started his music career in 1943. He composed music for films like 'Umrao Jaan' and 'Kabhie Kabhie', among others.

दिग्गज संगीत संगीतकार मोहम्मद जहूर 'खय्याम' हाशमी का 92 वर्ष की आयु में मुंबई के एक अस्पताल में निधन हो गया। संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार और पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित खय्याम ने 1943 में अपने संगीत कैरियर की शुरुआत की थी। उन्होंने 'उमराव जान' और 'कभी-कभी' जैसी फिल्मों के लिए संगीत तैयार किया।
2- Iceland holds funeral for first glacier lost to climate change
A funeral was held to commemorate Okjökull, the first glacier to be lost to climate change in Iceland. A plaque billed as "A letter to the future" was mounted on a bare rock in the ceremony, which warned all glaciers could get extinct within the next 200 years. The funeral was also attended by Iceland PM Katrín Jakobsdóttir.
आइसलैंड ने जलवायु परिवर्तन में खोए पहले ग्लेशियर के लिए अंतिम संस्कार किया
आइसलैंड में जलवायु परिवर्तन के लिए खो जाने वाले पहले ग्लेशियर, ओक्जाकुल की याद में एक अंतिम संस्कार आयोजित किया गया था। समारोह में चट्टान पर "भविष्य के लिए एक पत्र" के रूप में तख़्ती लगायी गयी, जिसने चेतावनी दी कि अगले 200 वर्षों के भीतर सभी ग्लेशियर विलुप्त हो सकते हैं। इस कार्यक्रम में आइसलैंड के पीएम कैटरीन जकोब्स्दोतिर भी शामिल हुए।
3- 100 rupees bill for spending 100 units of electricity in MP
Domestic consumers in Madhya Pradesh will have to pay a maximum of Rs 100 for consumption up to the first 100 units. After this, consumption of additional 50 units will have to be paid as per the rate prescribed by the Electricity Regulatory Commission. In this way, the benefit of this scheme will be up to 150 units of consumption. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Kamal Nath.
मप्र में अब 100 यूनिट बिजली खर्चने पर 100 रुपये का बिल
मध्य प्रदेश में घरेलू उपभोक्ताओं को प्रथम 100 यूनिट तक की खपत पर अधिकतम 100 रुपये का बिल देना होगा। इसके बाद अतिरिक्त 50 यूनिट की खपत पर विद्युत नियामक आयोग द्वारा निर्धारित दर के अनुसार भुगतान करना होगा। इस तरह इस योजना का लाभ 150 यूनिट की खपत तक मिलेगा। यह निर्णय मुख्यमंत्री कमलनाथ की अध्यक्षता में हुई मंत्रिपरिषद की बैठक में लिया गया।
4- Pak Army chief General Bajwa gets a three-year extension
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan extended the term of the Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa for another three years. Citing the decision made by Pak- Prime Minister, the Dawn reported that the decision has been taken in view of the regional security environment. The 58-year-old general was expected to retire this year.
पाक सेना प्रमुख जनरल बाजवा को तीन साल का विस्तार
पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री इमरान खान ने सेना प्रमुख जनरल क़मर जावेद बाजवा का कार्यकाल तीन साल के लिए बढ़ा दिया। पाक-प्रधान मंत्री द्वारा किए गए निर्णय का हवाला देते हुए, डॉन ने बताया कि यह निर्णय क्षेत्रीय सुरक्षा वातावरण को देखते हुए लिया गया है। 58 वर्षीय जनरल को इस साल सेवानिवृत्त होने की उम्मीद थी।
