1- Rankireddy-Shetty jump seven spots and enter in top 10 list in badminton rankings
In Badminton, Indian men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have jumped seven places to enter the top 10 of
the latest world rankings. They are now placed ninth in the doubles rankings. The other Indian men's doubles duo of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy remained on 25th spot.
In the men's singles, Parupalli Kashyap moved up three places to 32nd spot, while Subhankar Dey climbed two places to 39th. While other Indian singles shuttlers as Kidambi Srikanth (10th), Sameer Verma (13), B Sai Praneeth (19), H S Prannoy (31) and Sourav Verma (44) are all static at their respective positions.
In the women's singles rankings, Olympic medallists P V Sindhu holds on her fifth place and Saina Nehwal the eighth spot.
In the women's doubles, Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy moved up a place to 23rd.

2- President Kovind gives assent to AERA (Amendment) Bill- 2019
President Ram Nath Kovind has given his assent to The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India, AERA (Amendment) Bill- 2019. A Gazette Notification to this effect has been issued. The bill increases the threshold of annual passenger traffic for major airports from 15 lakh to over 35 lakh passengers.

राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद ने भारतीय विमानपत्तन आर्थिक नियामक प्राधिकरण, AERA (संशोधन) विधेयक- 2019 को अपनी सहमति दे दी है। यह बिल में प्रमुख हवाई अड्डों के लिए वार्षिक यात्री यातायात की सीमा को 15 लाख से बढ़ाकर 35 लाख से अधिक यात्रियों तक कर दिया गया है।
3- Sushma Swaraj, Former Foreign Minister and BJP Stalwart, Passes Away at 67
Epitome Of Women Empowerment and a prominent face of woman representation in Indian Politics, Sushma Swaraj passed away at AIIMS on 6th August 2019. Senior BJP leader and former foreign minister, who suffered a massive heart attack, died at the age of 67.

4- RBI cuts repo rate by 35 basis points
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in its monetary review meeting cut the key interest rate (repo rate) by 35 basis points. With this, the repo rate has come down to 5.40.

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने अपनी मौद्रिक समीक्षा बैठक में प्रमुख ब्याज दर (रेपो दर) में 35 आधार अंकों की कटौती की। इसके साथ ही रेपो रेट घटकर 5.40 पर आ गयी है।
