1-The government has announced the repealing of Article 370 which grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The resolutions in this regard were adopted by the Rajya Sabha. The Upper House also passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2019 by voice vote. The Bill seeks to make Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory with the legislature and Ladakh Union Territory without legislature.
सरकार ने अनुच्छेद 370 को निरस्त करने की घोषणा की है जो जम्मू और कश्मीर को विशेष दर्जा देता है। इस संबंध में प्रस्तावों को राज्य सभा द्वारा भी स्वीकार किया गया था। उच्च सदन ने बहुमत से जम्मू और कश्मीर पुनर्गठन विधेयक, 2019 भी पारित किया। विधेयक में जम्मू और कश्मीर को विधायिका के साथ एक केंद्र शासित प्रदेश और लद्दाख केंद्र शासित प्रदेश बनाने की मांग की गई है।
2- Lok Sabha passes Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights), Bill. Moving the Bill, Minister for State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Kishan Pal Gurjar said, the Bill prohibits the discrimination against a transgender person, including denial of service or unfair treatment in relation to education, employment, healthcare, access to, or enjoyment of goods, facilities, opportunities available to the public.
लोकसभा ने ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्तियों (अधिकारों का संरक्षण), विधेयक पारित किया। विधेयक को आगे बढ़ाते हुए, सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता राज्य मंत्री, किशन पाल गुर्जर ने कहा, विधेयक एक ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्ति के खिलाफ भेदभाव पर रोक लगाता है, जिसमें शिक्षा, रोजगार, स्वास्थ्य सेवा, उपयोग या आनंद के संबंध में सेवा से इनकार या अनुचित व्यवहार शामिल है।
3- Lalit Kala Akademi celebrates 65th Foundation Day. National Academy of Art, Lalit Kala Akademi, celebrated its 65th Foundation Day in New Delhi on 05th August 2019. The event was inaugurated by Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel.

4- External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will be paying a three-day visit to China from 11th of this month. This will be Dr S Jaishankar's first visit to China after assuming office. During the visit, the External Affairs Minister along with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi will co-chair the second meeting of the India-China High-Level Mechanism on Cultural and People-to-People exchanges in Beijing on 12th of this month.
विदेश मंत्री डॉ. एस जयशंकर इस महीने की 11 तारीख से चीन की तीन दिवसीय यात्रा पर जायेंगे। पदभार संभालने के बाद डॉ. एस जयशंकर की यह पहली चीन यात्रा होगी। यात्रा के दौरान, विदेश मंत्री अपने चीनी समकक्ष वांग यी के साथ इस महीने की 12 तारीख को बीजिंग में सांस्कृतिक और पीपल-टू-पीपुल एक्सचेंजों पर भारत-चीन उच्च-स्तरीय तंत्र की दूसरी बैठक की सह-अध्यक्षता करेंगे।
5- The Maldives sends former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb to the detention centre. Former vice president Ahmed Adeeb was taken to Dhoonidhoo detention centre after being returned to the country.
मालदीव ने पूर्व उप राष्ट्रपति अहमद अदीब को नजरबंदी केंद्र भेजा। पूर्व उपराष्ट्रपति अहमद अदीब को देश वापस आने के बाद धुनीधू नजरबंदी केंद्र ले जाया गया।
6- Rajasthan legislative assembly passed two important bills to curb honour killings and Mob Lynching in the state. 'The Rajasthan Protection from Lynching Bill, 2019' and ‘The Rajasthan Prohibition of Interference with the Freedom of Matrimonial Alliances in the Name of Honour and Tradition Bill, 2019’ were passed by the assembly.
राजस्थान विधानसभा ने राज्य में ऑनर किलिंग और मॉब लिंचिंग पर अंकुश लगाने के लिए दो महत्वपूर्ण बिल पारित किए। 'द राजस्थान प्रोटेक्शन फ्रॉम लिंचिंग बिल, 2019 ’और 'राजस्थान प्रोटेक्शन ऑफ इंटरफेरेंस विद फ्रीडम ऑफ मैट्रिमोनियल अलाउंस इन द नेम ऑफ ऑनर एंड ट्रेडिशन बिल, 2019’ विधानसभा द्वारा पारित किए गए थे।
7- 2nd All India Annual Conference of IIS Officers was held in New Delhi. Over 150 senior IIS officers from across the country attended the conference.
नई दिल्ली में IIS अधिकारियों का दूसरा अखिल भारतीय वार्षिक सम्मेलन आयोजित किया गया। सम्मेलन में देश भर के 150 से अधिक वरिष्ठ IIS अधिकारियों ने भाग लिया।
8- South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn announced his retirement from Test cricket with immediate effect. A veteran of 93 Tests, Steyn's Test career spanned 15 years years, in which he picked up 439 wickets.
