Index of Eight Core Industries (base: 2011-12)
1. Coal production (weight: 10.33 per cent) increased by 2.8 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 7.4 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over corresponding period of the previous year.
2. Crude Oil production (weight: 8.98 per cent) declined by 6.9 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index declined by 4.1 percent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
3. Natural Gas production (weight: 6.88 per cent) declined by 0.8 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 0.8 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
4. Petroleum Refinery production (weight: 28.04 percent) increased by 4.3 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 3.1 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
5. Fertilizers production (weight: 2.63 per cent) declined by 4.4 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 0.3 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
6. Steel production (weight: 17.92 per cent) increased by 1.5 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 4.7 percent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
7. Cement production (weight: 5.37 per cent) increased by 0.8 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 13.3 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
8. Electricity generation (weight: 19.85 per cent) increased by 5.8 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 5.2 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
