1- AAI takes up projects of Rs 3,500 cr for upgradation of airports in North East region
The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has taken up projects of Rs. 3,500 crore for expansion and upgradation of the airports in the North East region. AAI has allocated Rs 1,250 crore for Guwahati airport, Rs 650 crore for Imphal (Manipur), Rs 500 crore for Agartala (Tripura), Rs 650 crore for a Greenfield airport at Hollongi in Arunachal Pradesh, and Rs 450 crore for Lengpui Airport in Mizoram and other airports in the region.
The current length of the runway of the Agartala airport, which is 2,286 meter-long, would be expanded up to 3,000 meters.

एयरपोर्ट अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (एएआई) ने . पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र में हवाई अड्डों के विस्तार और उन्नयन के लिए 3,500 करोड़ रुपये की परियोजनाएं लागू करेगा। AAI ने गुवाहाटी हवाई अड्डे के लिए 1,250 करोड़ रुपये, इम्फाल (मणिपुर) के लिए 650 करोड़ रुपये, अगरतला (त्रिपुरा) के लिए 500 करोड़ रुपये, अरुणाचल प्रदेश में हालॉन्गी में ग्रीनफ़ील्ड हवाई अड्डे के लिए 650 करोड़ रुपये और मिज़ोरम में लेंगपुई हवाई अड्डे और इस क्षेत्र में अन्य हवाई अड्डों के लिए 450 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए हैं।
इस परियोजना के अन्तर्गत अगरतला हवाई अड्डे के रनवे की वर्तमान लंबाई, जो 2,286 मीटर लंबी है, का विस्तार 3,000 मीटर तक किया जाएगा।

3- Saudi Arabia to offer tourist visas for first time
Saudi Arabia will offer tourist visas for the first time opening up the kingdom to holidaymakers as part of a push to diversify its economy away from oil. In a statement, tourism chief Ahmed al-Khateeb said opening Saudi Arabia to international tourists is a historic moment for the country.
It will open applications for online tourist visas to citizens of 49 countries. Visas are currently restricted to expat workers, their dependents and Muslim pilgrims travelling to holy sites in Mecca and Medina.

4- Wrestler Deepak Punia claims world number 1 spot in 86 kg
In the latest rankings issued by the international wrestling federation, World Championship silver medallist wrestler Deepak Punia has jumped to world number one position in 86kg category. But, Bajrang Punia lost the top rank in the 65kg category.
In 57kg, world bronze medallist Ravi Dahiya has entered the top-five bracket. He is ranked five, while Rahul Aware stands at number two.
Meanwhile, in women's rankings, Vinesh Phogat has jumped to number two in 53kg category. In 50kg, Seema Bisla has dropped a rung to number three while Pooja Dhanda is ranked five in 59kg, two places behind compatriot Manju Kumari.
