Answer Key-
- Sol-(3)
2. Sol-(1)
Speed upstream = 6/2 = 3, speed downstream = 8/(1/2) = 16
Speed of boat = = 9.5 km/hr
So time in still water = 28.5/9.5 = 3 hours
3. Sol-(4)
A = 2x, B = 5x
After 7 litres draw out:
A = 2x – (2/7) x 7 = 2x – 2 , B = 5x – (5/7) x 7 = 5x – 5
After 18 liter of A put back, A = (2x – 2) + 18 = 2x +16
So (2x+16) ÷ (5x – 5) = 8/11
Solve, x = 12
So A = 2x = 2 x 12 = 24 liters
4. Sol-(3)
5. Sol-(2)
Let 8 men can do the work in x days.
so according to the equation
12×24 = 8×x
x = 36 days
6. Sol-(1)
Ratio = 14 : 17.6
140 : 176 = 35 : 44
7. Sol-(1)
8. Sol-(3)
Difference = 15.5 - 14
= 1.5 lakhs
9. Sol-(2)
10. Sol-(5)
