Let S.P. = 100
S.P. (with tax) = 130
New S.P. = 100 - 5 = 95
Effective discount = 130 - 95 = 35
So, when S.P. of 95, discount = 35
And when S.P. of Rs. 16,150, discount = 
                                                            = Rs. 5950
Q.2 solution:- (4)

C.P. of the article = 50000 × 0.75 × 0.9 = Rs.33750
Repair cost = Rs.5000
S.P. of the article = Rs.50000
Total C.P. of the article = 33750 + 5000 = 38750

If 35y5y7875x is divisible by 72 then last three digit of the number is divisible by 8
By analyzing this we get x = 2
And if this number is divisible by 9 then digit sum of this number is divisible by 9 hence 3 + 5 + y + 5 + y+7 + 8 +7 + 5 + 2
After solving this we get y = 6
Average =  (6 + 2 )/2 = 4

3(x + 24) = (9x + 24)
3x + 72 = 9x + 24
6x = 48

Let the no. of voters = 100
 Number of voted polled = 100 - 20 = 80
 Number of invalid votes = 10% of 80 = 8
 Number of valid votes = 80 - 8 = 72
 Number of votes obtained by A = 50% of 80 = 40
 Number of votes obtained by B = 72 - 40 = 32
 Diff. = 40 - 32 = 8
here 8 unit = 800
      1 unit = 100
100 unit = 10000
Total votes = 10000
