(B) tan 53^o cot 37^o

(C) tan 33^o cot 57^o

(D) tan 57^o cot 37^o

Answer key:

1. Sol. (B)
Let the numbers be x and y/рдоाрдиा рд╕ंрдЦ्рдпाрдПँ x рдФрд░ y рд╣ैं ।

L.C.M./рд▓. × H.C.F./рдо. = 24

xy = 24 ...... (I)

x – y = 2 .... (II)

From (I) and (II), we get/(I)

x + y = 10 ... (III)

From (II) and (III), we get/(II)

x = 6, y = 4

2. Sol. (C)

3x – 5y = 2000 ----- (I)

2x – 3y = 2000 ------ (II)

From (I) and (II)/рд╕рдоी.(I) рдФрд░ (II) рд╕े,

y = 2000, x = 4000

A's income/A

3. Sol. (A)

Let the marked price of one pen be Rs. x/ рдоाрдиा рджूрд╕рд░े рдкेрди рдХा рдХ्рд░рдп рдоूрд▓्рдп x рд░ु.

Discount/

Cost price/

16
x = 600

Let the marked price of another pen be Rs. y/ рдоाрдиा рджूрд╕рд░े рдкेрди рдХा рдХ्рд░рдп рдоूрд▓्рдп y рд░ु.

Discount/

Cost price/
16

y = 400

Total marked price of two pens/рджोрдиों рдкेрдиों рдХा рдХुрд▓ рдЕंрдХिрдд рдоूрд▓्рдп = Rs. (600 + 400) = Rs.1000
Total cost price of two pens/рджोрдиों рдкेрдиों рдХा рдХुрд▓ рдЕंрдХिрдд рдоूрд▓्рдп = Rs. (564 + 396) = Rs.960
Discount/рдЫूрдЯ = 1000 – 960 = Rs.40

Discount/

4. Sol. (D)

Let the smaller tap fills the tank in x hours.

16
(2x – 10) 75 = 8 (x^2 – 10x)

150x – 750 = 8x^2 – 80x

4x^2 – 115x + 375 = 0

4x^2 – 110x – 15x + 375 = 0

4x (x – 25) – 15 (x – 25) = 0
x = 25, 16

5. Sol. (B)

16
16
6. Sol. (C)

On putting x = – 2 in polynomial x^2 + ax + b

(– 2)^2 + a (– 2) + b = 0

– 2a + b + 4 = 0

2a – b = 4 ---------(I)

On putting x = – 2 in the polynomial x^2 +bx + a

– 2b + a + 4 = 0

a – 2b = – 4 ----------(II)

On solving (I) and (II), a = b = 4

(I) рдФрд░ (II) рдХो рд╣рд▓ рдХрд░рдиे рдкрд░ a = b = 4

So/рдЕрддः a : b = 1 : 1

7. Sol. (A)

a^2 – 3a + 1 = 0

On dividing both sides by a, we get

a – 3 + 16= 0

a + 16= 3

Now, a5 + 16= 16
= 16
= {(3)^3 – 3 (3)} {(3)^2 – 2} – 3

= (27 – 9) × 7 – 3 = 126 – 3 = 123

8. Sol. (B)

16
16AEB = 90^o (AB is a diameter/AB рдПрдХ рд╡्рдпाрд╕ рд╣ै)

In ╬ФODB/ ╬ФODB рдоें,

BD = 16

BE = 16

AE = 16= 16 cm. /рд╕ेрдоी.

AD = 16= 19 cm. /рд╕ेрдоी.

9. Sol. (B)
16
= 16
= 16
16
= 16

10. Sol. (D)
16
= 16
= 16
= 16

= tan 57^o cot 37^o
