Answer Key-
Q-(1) Sol-(1)

Quantity I: 4x2 = 2704

x = 26 cm

Perimeter = 2( 26+104) = 260 cm
Quantity II: Required change = [(2╧А(1.25r×1.35h) - 2╧Аrh )/ 2╧Аrh] ×100 = 68.75%

Q-(2) Sol-(1)

Quantity I: 54 + 42 = 96 years

Quantity II: 12.05×(x+45) = 12.5×x + 11.75×45

x = 30

Q-(3) Sol-(5)
Quantity I: 7x2 – 34x - 5 = 0

x = 5, -1/7

Quantity II: 2y2 – 3y - 14 = 0

y = 7/2, -4/2

Q-(4) Sol-(3)
Quantity I: Required probability = 13/52 + 4/52 = 17/52

Quantity II: 9C3 = 84

= 4C1×5C2 + 4C2×5C1 + 4C3×5C0 = 74

Required probability = 74/84

Q-(5) Sol-(1)
Quantity I: 226.08 = P(12/100)2

P = 15700

Quantity II: Amount = 5000×(1+(12/2)/100)6

= 7093

Q-(6) Sol-(4)

Suppose the worker remained idle for x days. Then,

He worked for (40 – x) days.

=35 (40 – x) – 7.5x =710

On solving

x = 8 days

Q-(7) Sol-(3)
Let CP be 100 then MP 120

5% discount =114.

10% discount =108.

Diff 6=21

(CP)

100= 350.

Then MP=120% of 350=420

Now SP after 20% discount =336.

Loss =350-336=Rs14.

Q-(8) Sol-(2)
Total present age of the family (6×25) = 120 yrs

Total age of the family 6 years ago = (150 – 6×5) = 120 years

At that time, Total members in the family = 5

Therefore Average age at that time = 120/5 = 24 yrs..

Q-(9) Sol-(5)

Volume of the reservoir = 90m×50m×4.5m

= 20250m3

Water flow in one hour = 9×1000×24/100×24/100

Now time in which water can be emptied= 20250×10/5184

= 39.06 approx 39 hours

Q-(10) Sol-(3)
Capital of Ram= Rs.45000

Capital of Ravi = Rs.30000

Ratio of P1:P2 = 2:1

Now using formula,

45000×12=2×30000×x

x=9month

Then Ravi would join business after (12-9)=3month
