I am Shaoli and ever since my childhood, I have had a soft spot regarding the jobs in banking sector because I come from a family of bankers. My parents have been bankers, my relatives have been bankers and today, finally, with all good blessings and wishes, I am a banker, as well.

But hold on, hold on, my journey wasn't as easy and breezy as it sounds. It was a tumultuous journey with lots of ups and downs, with lots of tears, fears and dark feelings of giving up. But ultimately here I am today, after complete 2 years of struggle, with finally a job from SBI in my hand and with a feeling that if I can, you can as well.
So here's my story. I joined Mahendra's, Kolkata in March 2019 and was provided with a faculty that I shall remain indebted to forever. This is because the guidance I was provided with, was much more than what I had thought of and expected. The classes were designed systematically where in not only my concepts were made clear but also I was made aware of the tricks and tips to solve maximum questions at a given time. All the classes have been immesely helpful for me. I attended not only all my classes regularly but also took the weekly MCA tests religiously to make a note of my progress.
After a few months of regular classes at Mahendra's and also after consistently practising tests on the ST portal, clearing prelims had really turned into a cake walk for me. But clearing the mains was still the tricky part and was really a tough nut to crack.
I then came across the MAC classes by Mahendra which are specially designed for the mains exams. The maths and reasoning classes that were provided to us were genuinely benefecial, but still there was a lot of effort that was to be put in from my part. GA section is one of main turning points in the Mains exams and it took me a lot of effort along with hours of studying to get it in my grip.
Each person has a different strategy, but mine was to avoid doing guess works and to concentrate on maths and reasoning before my prelims exams. After appearing in any exam, i immediately would switch to GA and give my entire attention to it, without waiting for the preliminary results. This gave me time to prepare and revise well. I also took a lot of mock tests online, which helped me analyse my preparation.

When these many failures come at once, it is quite obvious for a person to start questioning his/her own worth, effort and dedication. It was no different for me. I wanted to believe in myself but i could also feel my patience and hopes slowly fading away. 2020 just added to the misery. Exams were postponed, vacancies were drastically decreased and I could see myself almost breaking down, but my mother along with my family and friends kept being my biggest supporters. They continued pushing me, motivating me and made me keep going till I finally reached the brighter side of the tunnel.
My final advice to everyone is to not lose the belief you have in yourself. Because that is what is ultimately going to drive you to your destination.
