(2) A tank is filled by three pipes with uniform flow. The first two pipes operating simultaneously fill the tank in the same time during which the tank is filled by the third pipe alone. The second pipe fills the tank 5 hours faster than the first pipe and 4 hours slower than the third pipe. The time required by the first pipe is-

Area of the park/ पार्क का क्षेत्रफल = (120 x 80) m2 = 9600 m2.
Area of the lawn/ लॉन का क्षेत्रफल = 8816 m2.
Area of the crossroads/पथ का क्षेत्रफल = (9600 - 8816) m2 = 784 m2.
Let the width of the road be x meters. Then,/माना पथ की चौड़ाई x मीटर हो तो
120x + 80x - x2 = 784
x2 - 200x + 784 = 0
On solving/हल करने पर
x = 4 meter/मीटर

Suppose, first pipe alone takes x hours to fill the tank./ मान लीजिए, टैंक को भरने के लिए अकेले पहला पाइप x घंटे लेता हैं।
Then, second and third pipes will take (x -5) and (x - 9) hours respectively to fill the tank/ तो टैंक को भरने के लिए दूसरी और तीसरी पाइप क्रमशः (x -5) और (x-9) घंटे लेंगे।
