26th Conference of the Parties: The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, took place at the SEC Centre in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, from 31 October to 13 November 2021. Alok Sharma, a cabinet minister in the UK, presided over the conference. It was the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the third meeting of the parties to the 2015 Paris Agreement, and the 16th meeting of the parties to the Kyoto Protocol, which was postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Padma Awards 2021: President Ram Nath Kovind has approved the conferment of 119 Padma Awards, including 1 duo case (in a duo case, the award is counted as one) for the year 2021. The list comprises 7 Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan, and 102 Padma Shri Awards. The Padma awardees include 29 women. 10 persons are from the category of Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI. The list includes 16 Posthumous awardees and 1 transgender awardee. It is to be noted that Padma Awards are announced each year on the occasion of Republic Day (26 January) and the awards are conferred by the President of India in a ceremonial function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the month of March/April of the same year
