Q. 4. 3 years ago the average age of a family of 5 members was 16 years. A baby having been born, the average age of the family is same today. What is the present age of the baby?

Q. 6. If A can complete 5/7 work in 15 days and B can complete 14 (2/7) % of same work in 7 days. Both A and B start the work and B leave before 3 days of completion of work. Find what is the total time of working of A?

Q. 9. Age of A is 4 times of B. B is 1/3 times of C. If the ratio of age of A and C become 13: 11 after 10 years then find the age of B after 8 years.

Q. 10. The sum of two year of C.I. ad two year S.I. of certain sum is Rs. 488 at 6 (2/3) % per annum. Find the principal.

1. Sol. (C)

According to the question/प्रश्नानुसार,

(60/u) + (60/ v) = 9 ... (I)

(35/u) + (90/ v) = 8 ... (II)

On solving (I) and (II), we get/ (I) और (II) को हल करने पर, हम प्राप्त करते हैं

u = 10, v = 20

Speed of the boat in still water/नाव की स्थिर पानी में चाल = (10 + 20)/2 = 15 km/hr./किमी./घंटा

Speed of the current/धारा की चाल = (20 – 10)/ 2 = 5 km/hr./किमी./घंटा

Required difference/अभीष्ट अन्तर = 10 km/hr./किमी./घंटा

2. Sol. (C)

Two years C.I. % /2 वर्षो का चक्रवृद्धि ब्याज का % = 20 + 20 + {(20 × 20)/ 100} = 44%

44% = 4941.2

100 % = 11230

144% = 16171.2

3. Sol. (D)

(5M + 7B) × 10 = (4M + 7B) × 12

1 M = 7B

M: B = 7    :      1
            ↓           ↓
            140         20

Wages of 3 Men and 4 Boys/3 आदमी और 4 बच्चो की दैनिक मजदूरी

= 3 × 140 + 20 × 4

= 500

4. Sol. (A)

Sum of the age of 5 members, 3 years ago/3 वर्ष पूर्व, 5 सदस्यों की आयु का योग

= 16 × 5 = 80 years/वर्ष

Sum of the age of 5 members at present/वर्तमान में 5 सदस्यों की आयु का योग

= 80 + 5 × 3 = 95 years/वर्ष

Average age of 6 members in present/वर्तमान में 6 सदस्यों की औसत आयु

= 16 years/वर्ष

Sum of the ages of 6 members at present/वर्तमान में 6 सदस्यों की आयु का योग

= 16 × 6 = 96 years/वर्ष

Age of baby/बच्चे की आयु = 96 – 95 = 1 years/वर्ष

5. Sol. (B)

Let both trains meet after t hours/माना दोनों रेलगाड़ियां एक दूसरे को t घण्टे बाद मिलती हैं।

60t – 45t = 45

15t = 45

t = 3 hrs. /घण्टे

Distance between Lucknow and Varanasi/लखनऊ और वाराणसी के बीच की दूरी

= (45t + 60t) = 105t

= 105 × 3 = 315 km. /किमी.

6. Sol. (C)

(n – 3) × 10 + 3 × 7 = 147

Let selling price of A/A का विक्रय मूल्य = x

Selling price of B/B का विक्रय मूल्य = y

x = 140y/100

x: y = 7: 5

Let/माना S.P.A = 700

S.P.B = 500

C.P.A = (700/140) × 100 = Rs.500

C.P.B = (500/125) × 100 = Rs.400

Total Profit/कुल लाभ = Rs. (700 + 500) – Rs. (500 + 400)

= Rs. 1200 – Rs. 900

= Rs.300

P% = (300/900) × 100 = 33 (1/3) %

Let/माना C.P. = Rs.100

then/तो S.P. = Rs.120

Profit/लाभ = 20

Profit/लाभ = 4 × Discount/दर

Discount/दर = 5

M.P./अंकित मूल्य = 120 + 5 = 125

Required/अभीष्ट % = (125/100) × 100 = 125%

9. Sol. (B)

A: B: C = 4: 1: 3

According to the question/प्रश्नानुसार,

A: C = 4: 3) × 2 = 8: 6

after 10 years/10 वर्ष बाद,

A: C = 13: 11

Now/अब, 5 = 10

1 = 2

B's present age/B की वर्तमान आयु = 6 × 2 = 12 years/वर्ष

Required age of B after 8 years/8 वर्ष बाद B की अभीष्ट आयु = 12 + 8 = 20 years/वर्ष

10. Sol. (D)

P [{1 + (r/100)}²  – 1] + {(2Pr/ 100)} = 488

P [1 + (r/100)²  + (2r/100) – 1 + (2r/ 100)] = 488

P = 1800
