5.The Ministry of Steel recently announced that the country exported 13.5 million tonnes (mt) of finished steel amounting to ₹1 trillion and imported steel of around ₹46000 crores. India also recorded an all time steel high consumption at around 106 million tonnes and production at 120 million tonnes. Government of India launched Production Linked Scheme (PLI) to produce speciality steel in our country.
