 IBPS stands for The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) and is an autonomous body that conducts a recruitment exam for clerical posts. The IBPS clerk exam date is yet not out, but the exam is likely to happen in August - October. The IBPS Mains Admit Card will be released days before the IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Date

  • IBPS Clerk Selection Process consists of three tiers: Preliminary Exams, Mains exams, and Language Proficiency Test. The clerk selection process is quite rigorous. Mains Exam 


The IBPS Clerk Selection Mains Exam is a difficult phase to get across. This section that a candidate needs to prepare for to get across the exam vigorously.

The marking scheme is +1 for correct answers and -0.25 for incorrect answers. Similar to the prelims exam, to qualify, the candidate has to secure the sectional cut-off marks and the aggregate cut-off marks. 


Both the Preliminary and Mains Examination are conducted online, and the questions are Multiple Choice Questions. 


Language Proficiency Test (LPT) for the IBPS Clerk Recruitment


The last phase of the exam is the Language Proficiency Test (LPT). A candidate can appear in the LPT after qualifying for the preliminary and mains exam. Candidates who pass the prelims and score the qualifying cut-off marks in the Mains exam can get disqualified if they do not pass the LPT test.
