Section IA and IB: Language
This is the very first section of the CUET exam that a candidate will encounter. As is evident from the name, this particular section will test the candidate's proficiency in some particular languages. Usually, the domains tested will be grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension capability. The syllabus of this section consists of:

Synonyms and Antonyms

Languages Included in the Respective Sections are as follows:
There shall be 50 questions from each section, out of which 40 questions from each section must be attempted. The total time allotted will be 45 minutes for each of the two language sections.
Section: Domain-Specific Subject
This is the section where your subject knowledge will be tested. It will evaluate students on the basis of the subject knowledge of the particular subject they are applying for and wish to pursue their studies in. Usually, the base level knowledge that is up to Class 12 will be tested. Candidates will be given 50 questions, out of which they will have to answer any 40 questions in the given 45 minutes.
The domain-specific subjects include Business Studies, Accountancy/ Book Keeping, Computer Science/ Informatics Practices, Chemistry, Entrepreneurship, Engineering Graphics, Geography/Geology, Home Science, History, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Physics, Political Science, and Sociology.
Both factual and conceptual domains will be tested for the particular subjects. For better preparation, candidates can have a look at the UG syllabus of the specific subject. Section: General Aptitude
According to the notifications of NTA, the syllabus for the General Aptitude section is vast. It shall test the candidate’s knowledge of current affairs and be a general knowledge assessment test for them. The syllabus focuses on the following:
General Knowledge and Current Affairs
Numerical Ability
General Mental Ability
Concepts of Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Basic Statistics
Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
The section will contain a total of 75 questions, and candidates need to answer 60 out of them. The total time allotted for this section shall be 60 minutes (1 hour).
For all the sections, there has yet not been any explicit notice regarding the negative marking for wrong answers. However, the speculations say that the marking scheme shall be +1 for correct answers and -0.25 for wrong answers.
