.Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions given below it.

Certain words have been given in bold to help you locate them while answering some questions. Planning a trip is not easy, especially if it is an international holiday. It is an expensive and tedious process. That is why many people opt for travel packages. Holiday packages offer convenience as they usually include most of the travel components- tickets, stay, food, sightseeing and so on- and have fixed itineraries and departure dates. These tours usually have a guide who travels with the group. These are offered by tour operators- it can be local ones as well as bigger and established operators. Apart from convenience, packaged tours also usually cost 20-30% lesser than a holiday that you plan on your own. Bulk purchasing enables them to pass on the benefit of economies of scales to their customers. Tours allow operators to book hotel rooms in bulk, passing the savings on to the customers. Same goes for everything else in the package. Typically, that includes guided sightseeing, meals and local transportation from one city to another. It costs much less than if you arranged the same services yourself. But before you book a holiday package you must read the fine print. You usually have to reduce two days from the total number of days in the package. Pay attention to the detailed itinerary. Day 1 is when you reach the destination and the last day is when you leave. A guided tour includes services of a guide and has stops. It is an orientation tour, places of interest are shown to you so that you can later explore them yourself. Tour operators will try and cram in as much as they can into a tour package. That’s why you should take a careful look at the itinerary. If you want a relaxed holiday make sure you opt for a package that lets you do so. Another issue can be the food. Though meals are not included, it will mostly be a set menu and might not be to everyone’s taste. Travelers who have a fixed budget in mind or also those who are not confident enough to plan a holiday can opt for tour packages. These are ideal for first time travelers, families and even senior citizens. It’s wise to know what is offered and what’s not before you book a tour package. If the information on the tour operator’s website or brochure is not enough, call or visit the tour operator to know more. For instance, ask if the cost of entrance fees, transportation, refreshments and so on included. Knowing what’s included and excluded will also help you carry enough extra money with you to pay for those things.

Q.7. Why are holiday packages way more economical than a holiday plan made by
oneself?

(1) Their travel plan remains different and is not so attractive as the one made by oneself.

(2) They are sponsored by others and therefore the cost remains less.

(3) The customers receive the benefit of bulk purchasing.

(4) Holiday packages are planned by an expert having knowledge of the market whereas holiday plan made by oneself is made with limited knowledge.

(5) Not mentioned in the passage

Q.8. The two days which should be excluded from the travel package are-:

(1) The first day when one reaches the destination and the following day.

(2) The second day of reaching the destination and the last day when one leaves.

(3) The days of our arrival and departure from the destination.

(4) Not two but three days should be excluded from the travel package.

(5) Not mentioned in the passage.

Q.9. Which of the following points is correctly pertinent to 'guided tour', according to the passage?

(1) It receives guidance from online services provided by the tour operators.

(2) A guided tour is called so because it is planned by a guide only.

(3) The person option for tour package gets guidance to choose the plan wisely.

(4) It offers services of a guide during traveling and also has stops.

(5) Not mentioned in the passage

Q10. How it helps a traveler, to know what is included and excluded in a travel package?

(1) The traveler gets an idea as to how much money he should keep as extra amount.

(2) It gives him a chance to evaluate the merits of the travel package he is being offered.
