1. Impetus (Noun) : प्रोत्साहन : something that encourages a particular activity or makes that activity more energetic or effective

Synonyms: encouragement, stimulus, momentum, catalyst

Antonyms: disincentive, discouragement, hindrance, deterrent, impediment

Example Sentence: The high crime rate was the impetus for the hiring of one hundred new police officers in our city.

2. Stringent (Adjective): कठोर : strict, precise, and exacting (of regulations, requirements, or conditions)

Synonyms: strict, rigorous, rigid

Antonyms: lenient, flexible

Example Sentence: The quantity of exports has declined since the early 80s due to the stringent procedures by the government.

3. Throw Down The Gauntlet (Idiom) to challenge someone (to invite someone to fight or compete with you)

Synonyms: challenge, dare, defy

Example Sentence: A price war looks likely now that a leading supermarket has thrown down the gauntlet to its competitors.

4. Defy (Verb) : अवहेलना करना : openly resist or refuse to obey.

Synonyms: resist, withstand, confront, oppose

Antonyms: obey, follow, comply (with)

Example Sentence: I wouldn’t have dared to defy my teachers.

5. Frenzy (Noun) : a state or period of uncontrolled excitement or wild behaviour

Synonyms: hysteria, madness, mania

Antonyms: calm, peace, composure

Example Sentence: The mental patient was known to go into a frenzy if he didn’t get his snack on time.

6-Vexed (Adjective) : परेशान: difficult to deal with and causing a lot of disagreement and argument; annoyed, frustrated, or worried

Synonyms:
annoyed, irritated

Antonyms: pleased, satisfied

Example Sentence:The inability to find a cure for the fatal disease has vexed the team of doctors for many years.

7. Clairvoyant (Noun) : a person who claims to have a supernatural ability to perceive events in the future or beyond normal

Synonyms: sixth sense, foreknowledge, second sight, precognition, foresight

Antonyms: ignorance, inconsideration

Example Sentence:One does not need to be clairvoyant to realize my school’s basketball team is going to win the state championship.

8. Proliferation (Noun) the fact of something increasing a lot and suddenly in number or amount

Synonyms: increase, addition, boost, rise, gain, uptick

Antonyms: reduction, depletion, decrease

Example Sentence: The doctor explained that the proliferation of the cancer cells shows that the cancer is spreading more rapidly than expected.

9. Surmise (Verb): अंदाजा लगाना : suppose that something is true without having evidence to confirm it.

Synonyms: guess, conjecture, supposition, speculation

Antonyms: ascertain, determine, find out

Example Sentence: He surmised that something must be wrong.

10. Beguile (Adjective): to persuade, attract, or interest someone, sometimes in order to deceive them

Synonyms: fascinate, enchant, captivate, tempt, charm

Antonyms: unappealing, repel

Example Sentence: Games are usually used to beguile small children.

11. Reminisce (Verb) : याद दिलाना : to talk or write about past experiences that you remember with pleasure

Synonyms: remember, recollect, recall

Antonyms: forget, ignore, neglect, repress

Example Sentence: My grandfather used to reminisce about his years in the navy.
