a. Applications must be submitted in online mode only through the official website, https://ssc.nic.in as no other mode of application shall be accepted.
b. Now click on the "Apply Online" link under the "RECRUITMENT" tab & fill out the SSC JHT application form 2022 after registration.
c. Applicants need to upload the scanned & coloured passport-size photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50KB).
d. Before final submission of the SSC JHT 2023 online form, applicants should cross-check all the details in every field of the form as after submission of the application form, no changes/ correction/ modification shall be entertained under any condition.
e. Now pay the application fees online & save the final form for future use.
SSC JHT 2023 Application FeeNote: The application fee is exempted for the candidates belonging to SC (Scheduled Castes), ST (Scheduled Tribes), Women candidates, PwD (Persons with disability), and ESM (Ex-Servicemen).
The questions asked in this section shall test the applicant’s understanding of the languages and literature (English & Hindi), correct use of idioms, phrases words, and his/her ability to write the languages in the correct manner, effectively & precisely.
Some of the important topics are:
Knowledge of Hindi, Antonyms, Synonyms, Phrases/Muhavare, proverbs, Comprehension, etc.
English Grammar, Comprehension, Vocabulary, Articles, Sentence Completion and Structure, Tenses, Spelling Test, Passages, Synonyms etc.
This section will have 2 passages for translation. One passage will be having a translation question from Hindi to English, and the other passage will require translation from English to Hindi. An Essay will be given each in Hindi and English languages section which will test the candidate’s skill of translation and their ability to write & comprehend the above two languages correctly, precisely and effectively.
The candidates selected for the post of SSC JHT will be paid a basic salary of Rs.35,400, and they will also be entitled to receive any allowances such as DA, HRA, etc.

SSC JHT Education Qualification 2023:
a. Educational Qualification for Junior Translator in CSOLSo The applicant must have a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination from a recognized University; OR
o The applicant should have a Master’s degree in any subject apart from Hindi or English from a recognized University, having English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR
o The applicant must have a Master’s Degree in any subject other than Hindi or English from a recognized University, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level AND
o The applicant should have a Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years of experience in translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including the Government of India Undertaking.
b. Senior Hindi Translator (in Central Government Ministries/ Departments/Offices)o The applicant must have a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level from a recognized University; OR
o The candidate should have a Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level from a recognized University; OR
o The applicant must have a Master’s Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level AND
o Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
c. Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI)
o The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Hindi from a recognized University with English as one of the subjects at the degree level, either as compulsory or optional or an Institute plus a Master’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus a Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute. OR
o The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level, either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus a Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute.
o Desirable: Two years of experience teaching Hindi at the Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institutions.
