SBI PO Notification 2024: The State bank of India has finally released a notification on the SBI PO examination. SBI has released the vacancies, the eligibility criteria is and also open the application window for the aspirants who are willing to appear for the SBI PO 2024 examination. Candidates can find the official notification on the official website of the State bank of India.

SBI PO 2024 recruitment exam will be conducted by State Bank of India (SBI) for selecting candidates for the post of PO (Probationary Officers). SBI PO or Bank PO exam is one of the most sought-after job in Banking industry and a dream job for millions of candidates across India.

Exam Pattern

SBI PO Exam Pattern 2024

Candidates must be aware of the exam pattern and marks distribution for Preliminary and Mains exam before appearing for the SBI PO 2024 Examination process.

The examination process of SBI PO consists of 3 Phase:

a. Phase-I: Prelims Examination
b. Phase-II: Mains Examination
c. Phase-III: Comprise of (a) PSYCHOMETRIC TEST (b) GROUP EXERCISE (c) PERSONAL INTERVIEW

The structure of exams is as follows:

SBI PO Prelims 2024 Examination:

This Prelims exam will be conducted in an online mode wherein the candidates are required to attempt 100 questions having 1 mark each, in a composite duration of 60 minutes. It is to be noted that the sectional cut-offs in the Prelims Exam have been removed now and the overall score of all 3 sections shall be considered for selection to the next round of the recruitment process.

SBI PO Mains Pattern 2024:

The Main Examination will be conducted online and will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after conclusion of the Objective Test and candidates will have to type their Descriptive Test answers on the computer.

Descriptive Test Pattern:

Communication Skills: Emails, Reports, Situation Analysis & Precis Writing) shall be asked in this test and the test will be of 50 marks which needs to be completed in a duration of 30 minutes.

SECTIONAL CUT OFF / MINIMUM QUALIFYING MARKS IN MAIN EXAMINATION:
 
❖ Each candidate will have to score a minimum score in each test (i.e. Test I, II, III, IV & Descriptive paper individually) in Main Examination. 
❖ Depending on the number of vacancies available, cut offs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for Phase III. 

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR PHASE-III: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in Phase-II (Main Exam). Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase-III from the top of the category wise merit list subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score, as decided by the Bank. 

PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS (APPLICABLE TO BOTH - PRELIMINARY & MAIN EXAMINATION): 

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, 1/4th of marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Phase-III: Comprise of (a) PSYCHOMETRIC TEST (b) GROUP EXERCISE (c) PERSONAL INTERVIEW (a) PSYCHOMETRIC TEST: 

The Bank will conduct Psychometric test for personality profiling, of those candidates who will be shortlisted for 
Phase-III. Findings of the test may be placed before the Interview panel for having a thorough perspective on the candidates.

FINAL SELECTION: The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. The marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Phase-III for preparing the final merit list. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. 

The marks obtained by the candidates in Phase-II (Main Examination both Objective & Descriptive Tests) and Phase-III (Group Exercise & Interview) will be normalized to 100 marks as detailed below.

SBI PO Apply Online 2024

Pre-Requisites for Applying Online for SBI PO 2024:

Before applying for SBI PO 2024, applicants must make sure that they have a valid e-mail ID and an active mobile number which will be needed for receiving all kinds of communications related to the availability of call letters/advice from SBI via e-mail/ SMS. It must be kept working till the final declaration of results.

Steps for Applying Online for SBI PO 2024:

(1) Candidates need to visit the official website of SBI to apply online for SBI PO 2024.

(2) Candidates will have to click on "CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION" to register their application by entering their basic mandatory information in the online application form for SBI PO 2024 like Candidate’s name, Father’s Name, DOB, E-mail Address, etc .

(3) After successful registration, log into your account using the credentials sent to your email ID/mobile no & fill in all the mandatory information in the application form like educational details, your previous experience details (if any) etc.

(4) After that you need to upload your scanned Photograph, Signature, Left thumb impression, etc.

(5) Applicants are advised to carefully fill in all the details in the online application as no change in any of the data filled in the online application will be possible/ entertained after clicking on the FINAL SUBMIT Button.

Guidelines for Scanning Photographs and Signature:-

At the time of applying online, the applicant must possess a scanned (digital) image of his/ her photograph and signature as per the specifications given in the notification of SBI PO 2024. Online application shall not be entertained unless the applicant uploads his photo and signature as per specification.

Note: If the face of the candidate in the photograph or signature is not clear his candidature might get rejected. In such cases, applicants must edit their application form and again re-upload their photograph or signature for successfully submitting the application.

SBI PO Salary & Job Profile 2024

SBI PO Salary 2024:

According to the notification, a Probationary Officer's (PO) starting base salary is Rs. 41,960 (with four advance increments) in the Junior Management Grade Scale-I scale of Rs. 36,000-1490/7-46430-1740/2-49910-1990/7-63840.

The official will also be qualified for D.A., H.R.A./Lease rental, C.C.A., Medical, and other benefits in accordance with the regulations in effect at the time. Depending on the location of the posting and other variables, the annual total remuneration on a CTC basis will range from a minimum of 8.20 lacs to a high of 13.08 lacs..

SBI PO 2024 Job Profile:-

The in-hand salary given to SBI PO is approx. around Rs 40000 to 45000.The gross pay/total pay-out earned like house rent allowance etc. lies between Rs 8.00 Lakhs to Rs. 13.00 lakhs per annum. The amount usually varies as per the location of the PO where he is posted.

Essential Academic Qualifications (as on 30.04.2025):

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 30.04.2025. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 30.04.2025. Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant etc. would also be eligible.
