1 Chhattisgarh has achieved a significant milestone in the field
of environmental conservation by declaring the Kopra Reservoir in Bilaspur
district as the state's first Ramsar site. The Kopra Reservoir is a freshwater wetland
system, formed by a combination of natural processes and man-made structures.
The reservoir is primarily fed by rainwater and also receives inflow from small
seasonal streams, ensuring a continuous supply of water.

2 A 70-foot-tall iron
statue of Lionel Messi has been unveiled in Kolkata, India, a city renowned as
India's football capital. This is
believed to be the world's largest statue of the Argentine football legend. The
statue was created by the Sri Bhumi Sporting Club in Lake Town, South Dum Dum.

cabinet minister Nitin Naveen has been appointed as the national working

7 PNB Housing Finance has announced the appointment of Ajay Kumar
Shukla as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. PNB Housing
Finance Ltd. was incorporated in 1988 when Punjab National Bank (PNB)

people in India for buying and building homes.

8. In a
major step towards deepening financial inclusion, the Department of Posts (DoP)
and BSE, Asia's oldest stock exchange, have signed a significant Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU). This initiative aims to expand access to mutual fund
services across India. BSE will assist postal employees in obtaining the NISM
Mutual Fund Distributor certification.

9. The Indian Navy will
commission its first vessel of the new class of indigenously designed and built
Diving Support Crafts, DSC A20. The commissioning ceremony will be held in
Kochi under the Southern Naval Command. DSC A20 is the lead ship in a series of
five Diving Support Crafts. These vessels are being built by Titagarh Rail
Systems Limited (TRSL) in Kolkata.

10 The Indian para-athlete
contingent concluded its campaign at the Asian Youth Para Games Dubai 2025
international tournament with a haul of 18 medals. India won eight gold, three
silver, and six bronze medals at the fifth edition of the tournament, which was
held in Dubai from December 10 to 13.
These Games are held every four years, and the host city is selected by
the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC). The Asian Paralympic Committee was formed
on October 30, 2002, in Busan, South Korea, as the Asian Paralympic Council.
